ARTS & LETTERS
Tyara Montgomery | artsletters@inksterdeltas.org This committee supports and promotes the cultural arts in the community by preserving, communicating and projecting all art forms that express the African-American experience in positive, ethnically invigorating ways. In addition, the committee seeks to provide opportunities for African-American artists to display their talent. |
AUDIT
Dr. Melissa Crumbey | audit@inksterdeltas.org This committee conducts internal audits of the chapter’s fiscal records and reports any material weakness. In addition, this committee reviews and proposes internal accounting controls. |
COLLEGIATE CONNECTION
Dr. D'Angela Pitts | projectace@inksterdeltas.org This committee bridges the gap between collegiate and alumnae Sorors, implements a vision of mentorship and increases collegiate involvement within the chapter & region. |
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Debra Dixon | commservice@inksterdeltas.org This committee plans and implements "hands-on" continuous community service activities and projects in the city of Inkster as well as our other service areas across western Wayne county. Our goal is to provide a variety of volunteer services to those who are less fortunate and/or in need of essential supplies and emotional support. |
DELTA ACADEMY
Shareia Carter | deltaacademy@inksterdeltas.org This committee provides an opportunity for adolescent girls, ages 11-14, to improve math, science, and computer skills, become acquainted with technology, develop competency and leadership skills, experience teamwork and cooperation, learn problem solving techniques, learn about non-traditional careers for women and participate in community service activities. |
DELTA DEARS
Phyllis Martin | deltadears@inksterdeltas.org This committee addresses the special needs, programs, and activities of our retired Delta members to ensure their active involvement, care, and well-being. |
DELTA GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully)
Dr. Melissa Crumbey | deltagems@inksterdeltas.org This committee addresses the needs of young females ages 14-18 (grades 9-12) by assisting the participants in proper goal setting and planning for their futures during high school and beyond. The youth mentorship program provides leadership and service opportunities through active involvement in service advocacy and community service activities. |
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Alicia Shivers | economic@inksterdeltas.org This committee plans the chapter’s internal and external development initiatives. Projects may include the promotion of chapter business with small/minority-owned businesses, internal training on financial management, the promotion of the Delta Home Ownership program, etc. |
EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Juanita Bell | education@inksterdeltas.org This committee coordinates educational development initiatives on behalf of IAC and identifies local programs based upon the focus of Grand Chapter. |
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM LIAISON
Lisa Harrington Shorter l ERT@inksterdeltas.org The IAC chapter liaison helps the chapter make the best and most informed decisions possible to stay safe and to thrive during and after challenging events such as natural or manmade disasters. |
HERITAGE & ARCHIVES
Dr. Larissa Abrams | heritagearchives@inksterdeltas.org This committee is responsible for documenting the history of the chapter, its members and its programs. |
HOUSING & PROPERTIES
LaTanya Beanum | housing@inksterdeltas.org This committee beautifies the chapter meetings, serves as chapter custodian and stores and keeps record of displays, decorations and ceremonial properties. In addition, this committee works with the chapter leadership to maintain the physical location for chapter meetings and events. |
INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION & TECHNOLOGY
Dr. Ashley Hardison | ict@inksterdeltas.org This committee manages the technology assets of the IAC chapter and ensures that all committees and the executive board leverage technology to run the operations of the chapter. This includes management of the website, Office 365, social media, email, distribution lists, email marketing system, phone conference bridges and voice/text blast systems. |
INTERNATIONAL AWARENESS & INVOLVEMENT
Patty Hines | international@inksterdeltas.org This committee strives to increase international awareness and promotes participation and education of global issues. In addition, this committee is dedicated to developing community programs designed to provide assistance, relief and resources to developing countries; as well as fostering local advocacy for social injustices and helping those in need. |
MAY WEEK
Julia Pitts | mayweek@inksterdeltas.org This committee coordinates and collaborates with other committees to bring forth programs to the chapter for a celebration focusing on education and scholarship. |
MEMBERSHIP
Vivian Kirkland | membership@inksterdeltas.org This committee coordinates and directs all membership functions within the chapter. This committee provides hostesses, recognizes visitors and birthdays, coordinates refreshments at the monthly meetings, and focuses on retention and reclamation. |
MICHIGAN STATE COUNCIL LIAISON
Dr. Kennetha S. Thompson | msc@inksterdeltas.org The IAC chapter liaison attends Michigan State Council meetings and represents the chapter for input on joint activities. |
NATIONAL PAN HELLENIC COUNCIL LIAISON
Laurecia Smith-Witherspoon | panhellenic@inksterdeltas.org The IAC chapter liaison attends NPHC meetings and represents the chapter for input on joint activities. It provides updates on NPHC events to the chapter and inputs chapter events into the NPHC calendar. |
NOMINATING
Treva Smith | nominating@inksterdeltas.org This committee works together to identify the best possible candidates for elected office in the chapter. It presents a slate recommending these candidates. |
PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH
Dr. Antoinette Byrd | physicalmental@inksterdeltas.org This committee evaluates community programs and recommends sorority contributions and participation that support national physical and mental health objectives. |
POLICY & PROCEDURES
Paula Wiley | policyproc@inksterdeltas.org This committee maintains and updates the policies and operational procedures for IAC to ensure alignment with National Headquarter guidelines. |
PROTOCOL & TRADITIONS
Juanita Bell | protocol@inksterdeltas.org This committee provides clear and authentic descriptions of the traditions and protocol of the sorority, implements the established code of protocol and behavior in the organization, and preserves the forms of ceremony and etiquette observed by the sorority. Also, this committee is responsible for ensuring practices, social interactions, respectful observances and uniformity happens at each chapter event. |
PUBLICITY/SOUVENIR AD
Paula Wiley | publicity@inksterdeltas.org This committee manages the brand of IAC in ad submissions for local, regional and national organizations. |
RITUAL & CEREMONIES
Vivian Kirkland | ritualsceremonies@inksterdeltas.org This committee assists committees with the planning and execution of ceremonies according to the ritual, plans and coordinates all Omega Omega services, and informs chapter members of ritualistic matters. |
SCHOLARSHIP & FUNDRAISING
LaTanya Beanum | scholarship@inksterdeltas.org This committee identifies candidates in our service area to be considered for various monetary gifts awarded by IAC to support higher education. Currently limited to African-American high school seniors, scholarships are awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence and service to the community. Also, this committee plans and manages fundraising activities to generate funds that will assist with accomplishing the goals and programs of the chapter. |
SOCIAL ACTION
Kim Trent | political@inksterdeltas.org This committee provides pertinent legislative updates to chapter members and community groups, as well as information on public policy and civil rights activities. It keeps abreast of the annual National Social Action Commission Plan and identifies projects for chapter implementation. |
